How Does fastbot Secure Your API Keys and Data?

Beyond having no withdrawal access, fastbot encrypts your API keys, never stores your exchange password, and never displays keys. Learn the layers of security that give you peace of mind.

Safety is more than "cannot withdraw"

Many people know fastbot has no withdrawal access (see is fastbot safe). But what about your API keys — how are they stored and protected? This is the part few ask about but matters a lot.

The layers protecting your data

1. API keys are encrypted

Your API keys do not sit as plain text in the system. They are encrypted before storage, so even in the event of unauthorized data access, the keys remain unreadable.

2. fastbot does not store your exchange password

fastbot connects via an API key, not your exchange login email/password. The bot never sees your exchange login credentials — so there is nothing to leak on that front.

3. Keys are not displayed

After you enter an API key, it is not shown again in full. You manage the connection by status (configured / not), operated by buttons — there is no place that "exposes" the key on screen.

4. Limited permission from the start

The strongest defense is still minimum permission: you create the API key with Read + Trade only, Withdraw off. Whatever happens, that key cannot move money off the exchange (see also the Binance API key security checklist).

You always hold ultimate control

Even with fastbot''s multiple layers, ultimate control stays with you:

  • Revoke anytime: delete the API key on the exchange → fastbot instantly loses all access.
  • Create a dedicated key for the bot: many people create a separate API key for fastbot so it is easy to revoke without affecting anything else.
  • 2FA on the exchange: any sensitive action (like withdrawal) still requires your own 2FA — fastbot cannot touch it.

Conclusion

fastbot''s security is layered: API keys are encrypted, exchange passwords are never stored, keys are never exposed, and permission is limited from the start. Combined with your ability to revoke access anytime, this is a design that puts control in your hands — not an empty promise.
